The mysteries of the Rosary

During his journeys to the different provinces of the Order, the General Promoter of the Rosary does not normally visit the same country twice. There is always the exception that proves the rule: his Asian expedition, in 2015, began, from 14 to 19 October, with the Philippines, a country he had visited in January 2012.

On 15 October, the day following his arrival at Manila, he took the road north to the Manaoag sanctuary. Here, Our Lady of the Rosary is revered and pilgrims, always numerous, throng around her. What a great joy to be reunited with her, three years later!
The noviciate of the Philippines Province is at the Manaoag convent. A meeting had been arranged with the novices prior to returning to the capital.

The following day, 16 October, after a brief speech at the Asia-Pacific Region Leaders’ Conference which was meeting on the Campus of the Saint Thomas University, the Promotion of the Rosary and the projects for the Jubilee were presented to the entire community Saint Dominic’s priory. Following this meeting an appointment was made by the Master of the students for a teaching for all the brother students, two days later.
Attached to the convent, the Basilica of Our Lady of La Naval welcomes many of the faithful. Again, it is the Virgin of the Rosary who is revered here.

Our nuns were not to be outdone as on Saturday 17 a day with the sisters of Cainta had been organised. It was a lovely fraternal reunion, three years after a first meeting.
Our sisters are closely following the journey of the pilgrim Rosary. They themselves will welcome it the 6 and 7 November 2016!

The trip via the Philippines was brief but intense. In fact it almost had to be extended due to Typhoon Koppu which violently swept through the north of the country and which the plane, the day of departure, conscientiously avoided!

The brothers and sisters are thanked here for their availability. I extend my gratitude in particular to fr Roland Mactal, OP, prior of the Saint Dominic priory of Manila, who was my guardian angel throughout this visit!
