Monthly Prayer Leaflet for the Rosary Teams
Our theme for the year:
“Remain in my love” (Jn 15:9)
Yes, it is possible, says the Gospel but not by the strength of the wrist! This is possible with the grace of God, with the daily help of the Holy Spirit in all cases both ordinary and exceptional ones. This unconditional and limitless love is neither a general idea, nor a vague universal theme.
It is really tough to love our enemies. And we have to admit that we do have enemies.
Jesus who knows better, does not point out that "Everyone is beautiful and kind."
The attacks against innocent victims around the world forcefully show that some people are evil. Therefore, what does it mean to love the existing enemies that really hurt us, killed relatives and threaten our lives?
"Loving our enemies is to want their own good, that which God wants for them in His love and wisdom. God does not want the death of the sinner but that he lives!" To love our enemies actually means to want them to change, and be converted to a life that is according to God's creation.
To love without limits, is to go beyond the limits of hatred, revenge, and the endless cycle of violence.
Saint Paul, in the Epistle to the Ephesians, tells us that Jesus destroyed all hatred on the Cross.
So loving our enemies is, by the grace of God, to purify our heart so as to get rid of violence, and to dedicate our lives to Real Love. We also need to pray hard for the conversion of murderers and the violent people.
This is what Mary taught Bernadette to pray at Massabielle, when she recited: “Pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death!”
O Virgin Mary, Pray to Your Son for the salvation of the world, and the conversion of the violent ones.
May his mercy, bring a change in us, and transform our world, into a world of peace that is according to God’s heart. (Laudato si)
