All called to holiness (Council Vatican II)

Monthly Prayer Leaflet for the Rosary Teams

Our theme for the year:
“You are the Temple of the Holy Spirit”

The month of November has a unique colour among all the months of the year because the feast of All Saints is prolonged by the memory of all our deceased.

An event with two faces: the joy of the saved, and sadness at the memory of those who have left us. Yet, Christ who died and rose for us is the source of our common hope.

Christian faith makes us discern “the family of the living and the dead united in Christ through the link of the Holy Spirit”.

In the Creed, we affirm that we believe “in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church… which is communion of Saints”.

During this month, it is time to enter further into the mystery of the relationship between the Holy Spirit and the Church.

The respect for our dead introduces us to the joy of the living that we are through the grace of baptism.

And the Council Vatican II joyfully invites us all to live: “all called to holiness”.

Now, it is really the Spirit of God that we receive at baptism that makes of us saints.

The baptized people form the body of Christ where the Holy Spirit lives.

By placing flowers on the graves of our deceased parents and friends, we manifest our hope; Christ draws into his resurrection all those who believe in Him and never ceases to send us the Holy Spirit who, day after day, calls us to holiness.
