“Like little children”!

Monthly Prayer Leaflet for the Rosary Teams

Our theme for the year:
“You are the Temple of the Holy Spirit”

“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs…”

Even if the feast of Christmas is burdened by much ambiguity, this feast is for many of our contemporaries the most beautiful feast of the year, beginning with the children. Who will be able to weigh up the tons of tenderness which will surround the little ones the night and morning of the 25th of December?

But let us not be mistaken! Christmas is not to remember with nostalgia one’s childhood or the illusory golden childhood of humanity. It is to be born again of the Spirit. To live Christmas, it is to become again this child that we are called to be, to eternally be. Yes to live as a child of God for eternity. A life in God made up of wonder, trust and tenderness.

But at the same time, how to ignore those who - on this very night - will be killed, mistreated or exploited? How can we forget those who will endure more severely the loneliness of this night?

On the night of Christmas, there will not be only joy. There will be truces and doubtless broken truces, but may each of us, according to our ability, struggle to make a truce of our ill conceived battles. A truce gives hope, and through this opens the door of the “possible”, so as to leave a better place in our hearts, in our families, the place where we live and in our teams for the little sister Hope.

Yes: “Truly I tell you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will never enter it.” (Mark 10, 14–15).
