“Pray the Rosary daily”

On that 13th of May 1917, the beautiful Lady dressed in white, dazzling with light, brighter than the sun, who appears to three children, is adamant: she asks them to pray the rosary daily “for peace in the world and an end to the war.”

We are then in 1917, Europe is engulfed in this terrible conflict which will be known as The First World War and victims are numbered in the millions.

It is urgent then to pray for an end to this terrible conflict, to take up the beads to recite this prayer for peace and which gives peace to those who pray it.

That was almost one hundred years ago. Is Our Lady’s request part of the past, linked to an historical context? Nothing is so sure.

The Sanctuary at Fatima – that mentioned our site among the links to visit at the end of January – is already preparing the celebrations of the centenary of the apparitions. Here is a sign that the message at Fatima is still relevant in this beginning of the XXI century!

Certainly it is not a worldwide conflict which burdens us, but a multitude of wars and regional clashes which afflict our earth. The voyeurism of the media shows us the violence and the hate which is unleashed on the Ivory Coast, in Tunisia, in Egypt and in so many other countries. And that does not count the situations, far from the cameras, of suffering and injustice which gnaw at the daily life of millions of men and women.

How our world lacks peace!

“Pray the Rosary daily for peace in the world and an end to the war!”

The message is clear. It is more than a request, it is an order. The world needs it so much.

Let us pray it fervently, alone or in groups, so that through the intercession of Our Lady of the Rosary, peace will come and dwell in our hearts, our families and our communities, our country and our world.

Let us pray the Rosary… Daily!
